Clinics Held At The Surgery
Antenatal
Clinic
This clinic is held weekly
on a Wednesday morning. We share antenatal care with the local Maternity Departments.
Family
Planning/Well Woman Surgery/Postnatal check
A full contraceptive service, well woman
checks and HRT monitoring are available. Postnatal checks are done
at six weeks. The doctors provide advice on pre-conceptual care and
sterilisation counselling. A fully trained family planning nurse is
in attendance.
In certain circumstances
these services can be provided in routine surgeries and clinics either
by the doctor or our fully trained family planning nurse.
Well Baby Checks/Immunisations
Childhood immunisations are carried
out by the nurse. Your child's eight week check is carried out by the doctor.
Your health visitor will be able to give you more information about this.
Routine Health
Checks
Nurses carry out weight,
urine and blood pressure, plus other checks as indicated. They can
also give advice on lifestyle and diet. Results can be discussed with
your doctor.
Asthma/COPD Clinic
Appointments are available with the
nurse for regular monitoring of your treatment.
Diabetic Clinic
Appointments are available with the nurse for an annual review of your treatment.
New Patient Checks
All new patients registering with the practice are advised to make an appointment
with the nurse for a routine health check.
Flu
Immunisation
This is available every October. Please discuss with the doctor. It is recommended for patients with chest problems and other chronic diseases, those over 65 and patients in nursing and residential homes.
Pneumovax
Vaccinations
Available all year, this is recommended
for patients with chest problems and other chronic diseases, the elderly and patients
in nursing and residential homes. Please discuss with the doctor.
Travel Clinic
This clinic is
carried out by the nurse. Please discuss your requirements with the nurse or doctor at least two
months before travelling, or complete a travel questionnaire available from reception. NB: Not all services are covered by the NHS.
Chronic
Disease Clinics
These nurse-led clinics regularly monitor patients with asthma, diabetes, hypertension, heart failure, cardiovascular disease and COPD.
